In the latest establishment attack on Labour party leader, Jeremy Corbyn, Britain’s chief rabbi has implicitly urged voters not to vote for Labour in the forthcoming general election.

RNA - Writing in The Times yesterday, Ephraim Mirvis provocatively asks: “What will become of Jews in Britain if Labour forms the next government?”

Mirvis claims that in the run-up to the general election next month “the overwhelming majority of British Jews are gripped by anxiety”, without providing any evidence.

Mirvis, who is the Orthodox chief rabbi of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, lends support to anti-Corbyn elements both within and without the Labour party by repeating allegations of anti-Semitism.

“A new poison – sanctioned from the very top – has taken root”, Miriv says, in a thinly-veiled referenced to the anti-Semitism allegations.

According to Press TV, Mirvis’ attempt at undermining Labour’s electoral chances reinforces a similar move by Britain’s three biggest Jewish newspapers last year.

The Jewish Chronicle, The Jewish News and The Jewish Telegraph published the same front cover on July 25, 2018, making the incendiary claim that a Corbyn-led Labour government would constitute an “existential threat” to British Jews.

In a clear sign of a concerted establishment campaign against Labour, Rabbi Mirvis’ intervention in politics comes on the heels of a warning by former MI6 chief, Richard Dearlove, warning of Corbyn’s supposed “danger to national security”.
