The Turkish Army and its allied militants have kidnapped and detained hundreds of civilians in Afrin in Northwestern Aleppo since occupying the region, media reports said on Tuesday.

RNA - “There are currently 2,090 residents of Afrin who had been abducted from Northwestern Aleppo are still in custody of the Turkish Army and its allied militants known as ‘Olive Fury’,” the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army's operations in provinces across Syria.

Aleppo

The Turkish Army and its allied militants have kidnapped and detained hundreds of civilians in Afrin in Northwestern Aleppo since occupying the region, media reports said on Tuesday.

The SOHR reported that there are currently 2,090 residents of Afrin who had been abducted from Northwestern Aleppo are still in custody of the Turkish Army and its allied militants known as ‘Olive Fury’.

The SOHR noted that over 3,000 civilians have been kidnapped by the Ankara-backed militants since occupation of Afrin region last March, and said that civilians usually pay more than 10 million Syrian lira to the Turkish Army and Ankara-backed militants to secure their release.

Eastern Syria

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has begun executing people who resist against its forced recruitment plan in Eastern Syria, the Arabic-language media outlets reported on Tuesday.

According to Fars News Agancy, the SDF tortured and executed two young Arab men after they rejected pressures by the militia group to join their ranks in the Eastern parts of Syria, the Arabic-language al-Furat News website reported. 

Meantime, media activists also said that the SDF arrests young Syrians house raids to force them to join its ranks.

The activists also said that the arrests by the Kurdish militias have increased as Turkey has bolstered the threat of its long-waited offensive on Kurdish regions in Northeastern Syria.

The said that about 100 civilians have been arrested by the SDF in Raqqa and Hasaka.
