Hujjat al-Islam Hasan-Jan Ahmadi, the public relations officer at the office of Ayatollah Mohaqqeq-Kabuli in Qom, said, “Ayatollah Mohammad-Baqer Fazeli has been selected as the source of emulation of the Shi’ahs of Afghanistan.” RNA – The public relations officer at the office of Ayatollah Mohaqqeq-Kabuli in Qom said, “After the demise of Ayatollah Qorban-Ali Mohaqqeq-Kabuli, his eminent disciple – Ayatollah Mohammad-Baqer Fazeli has been selected as the source of emulation of the Shi’ahs of Afghanistan.”
In a press conference held on July 16th, Hujjat al-Islam Hasan-Jan Ahmadi spoke at a ceremony marking the fortieth day of the demise of Ayatollah Mohaqqeq-Kabuli and announced, “Ayatollah Khoei had given the title of ‘Pillar of Islam’ to Ayatollah Mohaqqeq-Kabuli, which shows the pre-eminent position this religious scholar. Ayatollah Mohaqqeq-Kabuli had taught advanced seminary courses (Dars al-Kharij) for 18 years in the Seminary of Najaf, 7 years in the Seminary of Kabul and 40 years in the Seminary of Qom which is exceptional in the history of Shi’ah world. He went from Najaf to Afghanistan in 1972 then, he came to Iran in 1978 and until 1991, when the revolution of Afghanistan occurred, he played an important role.”
His Eminence stated, “This source of emulation played an influential role leading the revolution and civil uprising of Afghans. After this successful revolution, he revived the Friday Prayers which has not been performed for a long period of time in Afghanistan.”
He added, “Ayatollah Mohaqqeq-Kabuli engaged in answering his followers’ questions regarding the religion. In addition, he served many Afghan refugees.”
Hujjat al-Islam Ahmadi said, “Ayatollah Mohaqqeq-Kabuli ran the advanced seminary courses in Qom and in 1993, he became the religious leader of Afghan people. He also took influential positions on political affairs. His path will continue and after the demise of this source of emulation, Ayatollah Mohammad-Baqer Fazeli, who is one of the eminent disciples of Ayatollah Mohaqqeq-Kabuli, has been selected as the source of emulation of the Shi’ahs of Afghanistan.”
He added, “Ayatollah Kabuli’s funeral ceremony had been conducted very well and with magnificence. This is the manifestation of his high position. Some Iranians had attended the funeral ceremony and we are grateful for their presence.”
Hujjat al-Islam Ahmadi said, “The ceremony marking fortieth day after the demise of Ayatollah Mohaqqeq-Kabuli as held on July 18th in commemoration of his efforts and Hujjat al-Islam Sadeqizadeh, the representative of Ayatollah Mohaqqeq-Kabuli in European countries, delivered a speech.”
