The president of al-Mustafa University having a trip to Georgia, visited the chairman of Georgian State Agency for Religious Issues.

RNA - The president of al-Mustafa University, accompanied by the ambassador of Iran in Tbilisi, met the chairman of Georgian State Agency for Religious Issues, Zaza Vashakmadze, and two parties exchanged views on cultural and religious issues.

Sheikh Ramin Igidov, the head of Georgian Muslims Committee also attended the said meeting. Hujjat al-Islam Dr Ali Abbasi, appreciating the peaceful coexistence of the religions, said, “religions are in good conditions in Iran, furthermore the followers of different religions live peacefully with each other.

Pointing to the extremist movements present in the region, Dr Abbasi stressed that countries should use the experiences shared in the field of combating such ideology.

Al-Mustafa University president also pointed to Iranian tourist who visit Georgian and asked the Georgian state officials to provide them with praying spaces and easily accessible Halal food.

The chairman of Georgian State Agency for Religious Issues, Zaza Vashakmadze presented a report on the policies of Georgia concerning the Muslims living in this country.

Finally, the parties agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding on religious cooperation.
